The 2300 sf, two-story, residence pierces the ridge of a secluded forest lot. The design emphasizes a sense of suspension and lightness through the open space of the great room, clerestory windows, cantilevered walkways, and balconies. A cantilevered, concrete, switchback stairway floats in the great room creating a focal point. Structurally, the scheme consists of plywood floors, masonry walls, and shallow foundations.
