Eight steel
trusses, 15 ft. deep by 15 ft. wide, span eighty feet to cover
the main hall of the Nansha Science Museum. The three-dimensional
trusses incorporate complicated geometry with simple, cost
efficient details. Alternating rod and compression members
resemble the delicacy of leaf venation and heighten the building’s
biological imagery. A 60-foot-high curtain wall frame designed
of slender rod elements and horizontal wide flange beams allows
provide generous access to the main hall.
