This 10,000 sf biological research laboratory and field station features a cantilevered column system with composite steel cable and wood trusses, specially designed to minimize the amount of building material used. Exposed connections characterize the repeated truss elements. 2004 AIA Design Award, Santa Clara Valley Chapter. Green Building Awards, Sustainable San Mateo County 2002-03.
