A hyperbolic roof with a chevron pattern of tapered Douglas
fir rafters shelters the EW Studio. Lightly resting on six-inch-high
perimeter clerestory windows, these rafters unite at a thin
central beam whose tension cable profile shoots through the
main entry door. The material composition includes cementitious
interior wall panels, laminate glass floor, and custom sliding
doors. At night, indirect lighting dramatizes the minimal connection
between the roof plane and the exterior walls.
