Emeryville, California
An enclosed, two-story stair tower and thirty-foot bridge bring strength and grace to the Evolve Software headquarters. Stair treads cantilever from a single, floating stair stringer, which winds thirty feet upward. The stairs meet triangular steel landings supported by six freestanding columns. Throughout, connections are carefully exposed and articulated to illustrate at close range the finesse of the total structure.
