This project, the "DIY.house", best fits a typology of flexible, urban, and residential infill. The idea behind this project is to inhabit the site sustainably without the owner incurring an undue debt burden from maintenance. The house was designed to be built exclusively by the owner, who had no construction experience. Key goals were a flexible and expandable space, long life; natural materials; passive solar heating, natural lighting, and high quality construction.
